SEN School Personal Care Assistant – Part-Time and Full-Time Supply Cover\n\nLocation: Beckfoot Phoenix Primary Special School, Hazelbeck School\n\nContract: Part-time and full-time opportunities available\n\nWe are seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistants to join our specialist schools within the Beckfoot Trust. Beckfoot Phoenix Primary Special School and Hazelbeck School are inclusive settings committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where every pupil can thrive.\n\nAs a Personal Care Assistant, you will support pupils with additional needs in both their learning and personal care. Your role will include assisting with hygiene, mobility, and feeding, as well as supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and educational development.

You will be trained in manual handling, hoist use, and the administration of medication where required, ensuring pupils’ safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.\n\nA key aspect of this role is providing consistent, compassionate care while promoting independence and confidence for pupils with complex needs. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure that each pupil receives tailored support.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport pupils with personal care tasks, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility\nUse manual handling and hoist techniques safely following training and procedures\nAdminister medication as required in line with school policy and training\nSupport pupils’ learning and engagement in classroom activities\nPromote pupils’ independence, confidence, and social development\nObserve, monitor, and report on pupils’ wellbeing and progress\nWork collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support personalised care and learning plans\nFoster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils\nAct as a positive role model, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nExperience supporting children or young people with complex needs in an educational or care setting\nTraining in manual handling, hoist use, and administration of medication (or willingness to complete)\nEnhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one\nStrong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills\nPatience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach\nAbility to follow procedures and respond to individual pupil needs\nCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children\n\nHow to Apply:\nEmail us at: for an informal chat, or apply by visiting
