About This Firm

This well-established regional law firm has built an outstanding reputation across Essex for delivering exceptional legal advice and first-class client service.

Known for combining technical excellence with a genuinely approachable culture, the firm continues to invest heavily in both its people and its long-term growth. With multiple offices across the region and an ambitious vision for the future, they offer lawyers the opportunity to build rewarding, long-term careers in a supportive and progressive environment.

Their Residential Property team is highly regarded and benefits from longstanding relationships with local estate agents, introducers, developers and private clients, creating a consistent flow of quality work.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to take ownership of the firm's Residential Property offering in Chelmsford.

This is far more than a traditional conveyancing position.

You will become the lead conveyancer within the office, managing your own caseload whilst helping to continue the growth of an already successful department. Supported by an experienced wider Property team across the firm, you will have genuine autonomy to build client relationships, strengthen local connections and further establish the Chelmsford office as a leading destination for residential property work.

The role would suit a confident Residential Conveyancing Solicitor who enjoys working independently, takes pride in delivering exceptional client service and wants to play a meaningful role in the continued expansion of a highly respected regional practice.

The Role

As a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor, you will:

  • Manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post-completion.
  • Handle freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
  • Deal with transfers of equity, remortgages and new build transactions.
  • Advise clients throughout the transaction process, providing clear and practical legal advice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with estate agents, introducers and professional contacts.
  • Deliver exceptional levels of client care throughout every transaction.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the wider Property team.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Chelmsford office.
  • Maintain excellent compliance and file management standards.

Types of Work

Your caseload is likely to include:

  • Freehold Sales and Purchases
  • Leasehold Sales and Purchases
  • New Build Transactions
  • Transfers of Equity
  • Remortgages
  • Shared Ownership
  • Help to Buy
  • First Registrations
  • General Residential Property Advice

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Significant experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
  • Excellent technical knowledge across all aspects of residential property.
  • The confidence to work autonomously whilst remaining part of a collaborative wider team.
  • Outstanding client relationship and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.
  • Excellent organisational and file management skills.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Previous experience developing relationships with estate agents or local introducers would be advantageous.

Why Join?

This role offers something increasingly difficult to find within the residential property market.

Rather than becoming one of many conveyancers in a large volume-driven department, you will become the recognised Residential Conveyancing lead within the Chelmsford office, supported by an established and successful wider Property team.

The firm encourages autonomy, values initiative and provides the resources needed to deliver an outstanding client experience without unnecessary bureaucracy.

For someone looking to combine high-quality conveyancing work with genuine career progression and the opportunity to help shape the continued success of an office, this represents an exceptional opportunity.

Career Prospects

This is a key appointment within the firm's long-term growth strategy.

As the Chelmsford Residential Property offering continues to expand, there will be genuine opportunities to influence the future direction of the department, strengthen local relationships and further develop your own career within a supportive and ambitious firm.

Apply

If you are an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor looking to take ownership of an established Residential Property offering within a respected Essex law firm, we would be delighted to speak with you in complete confidence.
